Fuchsia fire

I'm very partial to flowers. I wasn't much before and never imagined I would be. But here I am, admiring their intricate patterns, bright colors and the joys of cultivating them.

Flowers are good for the soul because they give you a sense of fulfillment as you care for them. Seen from a different angle, they are your children. They grow steadily and flourish in a blaze of color that brightens the gloomiest of days.

Greece has a variety of flowers, but the king of them all in my opinion is the geranium. Many view geraniums (and all its cousins) as a trademark of the landscape. They are especially loved by villagers, something which I clearly remember every time I visited my grandma in the village where she lived. Balconies were full of them, which is why it would be very remiss on my part if I didn't include at least one picture of a favorite of mine.
